In the heart of Kaunas, Lithuania, a city steeped in history and culture, a remarkable story unfolds. A tale of two sisters, Justė and Iveta, who dared to dream and brought to life PLEIADES, a brand that redefines luxury in the realm of custom-made lighting fixtures.Each chandelier that emerges from the PLEIADES workshop is more than a mere object of illumination. It is a testament to the harmonious marriage of contemporary design and the timeless elegance of the post World War I Art Deco era. It is a tribute to a time when opulence was not just a lifestyle but a form of art, a time when aesthetic satisfaction was not just a philosophy but a way of life.
The name PLEIADES is not just a fancy moniker. It is a nod to the celestial, to the cluster of seven stars nestled near the constellation Taurus, a spectacle of nature that is a feast for the naked eye on November evenings in the Northern hemisphere. In Greek mythology, the Pleiades were seven sisters, daughters of the titan Atlas, the celestial being burdened with the weight of the heavens on his shoulders.
Justė and Iveta may be just two sisters, but their vision is as expansive as the cosmos. They, along with a constellation of creative souls and artisans, pour their heart and soul into each creation. The process of creation is as significant as the design itself. Each chandelier is a labor of love, crafted with meticulous attention to detail and in close collaboration with the client, to bring their vision to life and create a masterpiece that would be the crowning glory of any space, be it a private home, a restaurant, a hotel, or a studio.
